First thing you need to do
is to open Wolfenstein, join a server then when inside
open up the console using the ~ key. Once the console
is open type in the following command with the backslash:
\g_syncronousclients 1
After you have entered this
command you are ready to rock and roll, be warned
thou it might tend to lag you when your recording
a demo but if you have a l337 pc and can handle it
type in:
\record demotest
This will start the recording
of the demo, and demotest will be the name of your
demo which will be generated in /demos directory under
/demomain. demotest is just a name i choose so you
can enter any name for your demo and it will generate
the demo in your demos folder. Please note that recording
a demo does take some serious amount of space so don't
forget to stop the demo once your done, the file size
of your demo will appear on top when your start to
record and it will increase in real time so you can
always check how big your demo has become. (It's around
4kb per second )
When you have recorded enough l337ness you can type
in the following command to stop the demo
\stoprecord
That's it, easy no? Now what
if your bored and want to show your neighbour your
skills? No problem just type in the command followed
by the demo name you choose previously.
\demo demotest
This will load the demo i recorded
earlier, if i named it differently than change the
demotest to whatever you choose.
There is also something people might find interest
in, it's benchmarking. If you have recorded a demo
and want to benchmark your pc using the demo then
type in
\timedemo 1
Then just load the demo you
want to benchmark.
You can download this demo
i recorded, it's around 1 minute long and run a benchmark
on it the post your result here!
Note: When the benchmark is
finished it'll kick you back to the game main menu
just hit ~ to bring up the console and the result
will be written there on the last line.
That's it folks, if you have
any questions or problems don't forget to ask them
in our forums.
